The article reports on current issues relating to urban development contracts. In particular, the admissibility of planning-substituting contracts and follow-up cost contracts, of social obligations on developers, of compensatory measures for environmental intrusions and of implementation contracts for project-related land-use plans are discussed, also the compatibility of provisions with regional legislation under which the sale of land located in certain communes is conditional upon the prospective purchaser having a sufficient connection with the commune concerned.
