Die Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung in der Infrastrukturplanung im Rechtsvergleich

Thomas Groß

The comparative analysis gives an overview of the main common features, as well as the major differences, concerning public participation in infrastructure planning in ten European countries. Some basic requirements are found in the Aarhus Convention and the EU directives based on it. Nevertheless, the legal regimes for infrastructure planning are different in all countries and, therefore, the implementation of the Convention is not uniform. Examples from other countries may help to improve participatory procedures in order to strengthen the protection of the environment.
