The following article aims to reveal the connections between environmental protection and the fundamental right of property in the primary law of the European Union and in the German Constitution. By reason of variegated environmental activities of the European Union numerous questions in relation to basic rights, particularly in context to the fundamental right of property, are coming up. In the German Constitutional Law the influence of the fundamental right of property on environmental law raises issues.
