The 10th ScanBalt Forum, organised and hosted by BioCon Valley®, and attended by in excess of 240 registered participants, was held in Heringsdorf, Germany, from September 21st to 24th, 2011. A workshop entitled ‘The ecosystem approach in the use and conservation of marine areas in international and European Union law’ took place in the second of the three parts of the town, ‘Green Valley,’ where the focus was on the environment as a central theme. The wor
